Here is what I have been workin on lately....

I have to say I am quite pleased with how they have turned out.

We are up north enjoying the beautiful weather and getting ready for the Mariposa Folk Festival. Come visit us at the Artisan's Market. The festival runs from July 8th to 11th and has so many fabulous musical acts including, (so excited about this), Emmylou Harris! Hope to see you there!

Those Russians

I was visiting finelittleday yesterday and she posted about this amazing organization called studio da. It is a Russian animation studio with artists, teachers and psychologists who use art therapy to help troubled youth and children. She found the link thanks to another wonderful blog http://kickcanandconkers.blogspot.com/. My boys love to watch the little animation shorts.

Inspiration

I came across these photos of indiginous traditional dress that my husband had taken as reference for an art project. I can't take my eyes off them. They are so beautiful. The book these photos came from is at my parent's and I will be to post the title and author once I track down.

I just love, love, love these dyed mums. They have helped to make a somewhat grey week a little bit brighter.

Inspiration

My husband gave me these a few years back. I just love them! I think they are Scandinavian origin and I am assuming they are felt liners of some kind. They are a bit too big to wear, but I keep them out so I can look at them while working in my studio. And here is Mr. L giving them a try.
